Ziad started his career in 1998 and was mainly responsible for Maritime law litigation (London Maritime Arbitration Association and Chambre Arbitrale Maritime de Paris) and commercial negotiations, such as Charter Parties under BIMCO standards and operational partnerships.
He also dealt with competition law matters and developed the competition law department of CMA CGM where he spent 15 years. He was entrusted with several multimillion investment projects among which the development of shipping terminals, and sharpened his expertise in corporate issues, M&A, setting up equity and joint-venture partnerships, negotiation of shareholders’ agreements and project financing.
In 2010 as Deputy General Secretary he played an important part in negotiations with the new investors to complete the financial restructuring of the company.
In 2014 he was Secretary General of CMA CGM Algeria, a company with 250 employees and annual turnover of more than $25 million.
Ziad has an Executive MBA in Finance, HR management, Strategy and Marketing. He is graduated from Paris X – Nanterre University, degree in Private Law and Jurisprudence.
He teaches law at Kedge Business School and leads the International Trade Transport and Logistics Club.
