FORMER CMA-CGM LAWYERS SETTLE DOWN WITH PRESIDENT SILINI
Algeria Lawyer: SRDB business firm, based in Marseille and Paris, wants to compete with Lefèvre Pelletier & Partners (LPA), Gide Loyrette Nouel and the other firms already installed on the Algerian market.
SRDB was founded in 2015 by the former legal director of shipping giant CMA CGM Georges Sioufi. The firm was naturally allied with SEB Partners (Silim, Baghdadi & Bentoumi) to open its local branch. It should be inaugurated in July. The head of SEB, the president of Algiers Abdelmadjid Silini, had represented the carrier in his proceedings against his former partner in Algeria Lazhar Hani. The case, explosive, was closely followed in Marseille by Georges Sioufi (then special adviser to the CEO Jacques Saadé) and in Algiers by Ziad Beylouni, at the time assistant secretary general of the local subsidiary of the shipowner, and now SRDB associate.
In addition to the maritime sector, SRDB is banking on the reopening of the Algerian market to foreign investors. While the oil rent falls, he also wants to position itself on the great “renewable energy plan” led by Algiers.
